Content pending review
Spiga Gourmet brings you the combination of a softly creamy texture and a deep, balanced smoked flavour. Naturally made with selected woods.
Naturally smoked
Affumicatura naturale. The smoke comes from burning beech wood shavings, not from a flavouring added at the end. That is why the skin takes on its golden colour and the taste comes through slowly, behind the creaminess, instead of pushing in front of it.
How to serve it
At room temperature, twenty minutes out of the fridge. The smoke opens up with warmth, and that is when you really taste it.
What makes it special
- Smoked over beech: by burning wood shavings, the traditional way.
- The golden skin: the colour is not added, the smoke leaves it.
- The creamy heart: under the smoke there is still burrata, with its cream and cheese-shred filling.
How to enjoy it
- Suggested pairing: a young, light red, or a toasted craft beer.
- On its own: at room temperature, with extra virgin olive oil and black pepper.
- With roasted vegetables: pepper, courgette or aubergine, still warm.
- On toast: over rustic bread, with ripe tomato.
- On a board: alongside smoked meats and pickles.
Frequently asked questions
Does it contain lactose?
Yes. It is a dairy product and naturally contains lactose. If you are looking for one without it, we have the Lactose-Free Burrata.
How is it smoked?
Over burning beech wood shavings. It is natural smoking, not added flavouring, which is why the taste comes through slowly and does not cover the creaminess of the burrata.
What temperature should it be served at?
Room temperature. Take it out of the fridge about twenty minutes before: cold, the smoke only half comes through.
How should it be stored?
Refrigerated between 0 °C and 4 °C, in its own liquid and unopened until you serve it.
How is it different from the classic burrata?
The smoking. The cheese underneath is the same, and what changes is that this one is smoked over beech, which gives it the golden skin and a deeper background. The unsmoked version is the Burrata Gourmet.
